STONEY CREEK falls to TORONTO in overtime, 3-2 (OT)

MacKenzie MacNeil gave TORONTO a 3-2 (OT) victory over STONEY CREEK when she scored 2:06 into the extra period.

The win by TORONTO clinched the best of five series at 3-2.

TORONTO was led by MacNeil, who grabbed one goal.

TORONTO put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow STONEY CREEK to score on any of its five power plays.

TORONTO also got points from Morgan Sly, who also had one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Jordan McDonell also scored for TORONTO. Other players who recorded assists for TORONTO were Breanne Wilson-Bennett, Hannah Rastrick, Emma Korbs, and Brooke Webster, who contributed one a piece.

TORONTO was unable to stop STONEY CREEK from sending pucks towards the net, and STONEY CREEK eventually piled up 32 shots on goal.

STONEY CREEK was helped by Sarah Nurse (A), who finished with one goal. Nurse (A) scored 5:23 into the second period to make the score 2-1 TORONTO. Kristina Kocsis provided the assist. STONEY CREEK also got a goal from Olivia Atkinson as well. In addition, STONEY CREEK received assists from Teresa Horner, Sydney McKibbon (C), and Rosie Heffernan, who each chipped in one.

Liberty McKague made 30 saves for TORONTO on 32 shots. TORONTO incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Taylor Cook rejected 21 shots on goal for STONEY CREEK. STONEY CREEK incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors.
