STONEY CREEK tried its best to erase a three-goal deficit, but TORONTO would not be denied the victory and hung on to win, 4-2. TORONTO took a 4-1 lead during the second period, only to have STONEY CREEK storm back on a Madison Field goal 9:11 into the third period to pull to two goals down. TORONTO evened the best of five series at 2-2 and forced a deciding game five. MacKenzie MacNeil had a great game for TORONTO, netting two goals. MacNeil scored at 12:50 into the first period to make the score 1-1 and again while 6:00 into the second to make the score 3-1 TORONTO. TORONTO also got a goal from Brooke Webster as well. More assists for TORONTO came via Rachel Bierbrier, who had two and Emma Greco, Breanne Wilson-Bennett, Victoria Andreakos, and Devon Moir, who each chipped in one. STONEY CREEK forced TORONTO goalie Liberty McKague to work between the pipes, taking 32 shots. In addition, STONEY CREEK received assists from Sarah Nurse (A), who had two and Sydney McKibbon (C) and Kristina Kocsis, who contributed one a piece. McKague rejected 30 shots on goal for TORONTO. TORONTO incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Brittany Smrke made 21 saves for STONEY CREEK on 25 shots. STONEY CREEK incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. |
