Georgetown falls to St. Michaels in overtime, 4-3 (OT)Mold-Master SportsPlex Wed, Mar 13, 2013 Story by Narrative Science.
Matt Buckles gave the St. Michaels Buzzers a 4-3 (OT) victory over the Georgetown Raiders when he scored 7:11 into the extra period. The win gave St. Michaels a 2-0 lead in the best of seven series. The Buzzers were sparked by Buckles, who tallied one goal and one assist. St. Michaels made Raiders' goalies to work without much rest, finishing with 33 shots and forcing 29 saves. Gabe Grunwald made 16 stops and Keegan Wilson made 13. The Buzzers stifled Georgetown's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. St. Michaels also got a goal from David Italiano as well. In addition, St. Michaels received assists from Michael Neville, who had two and Stephen Pietrobon, Troy Josephs, Shane Conacher, and Matt Galati, who contributed one a piece. The Raiders' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on four St. Michaels power plays. St. Michaels was unable to stop Georgetown from sending pucks towards the net, and the Raiders eventually piled up 51 shots on goal. Georgetown was led by Drake Hart, who racked up one goal and one assist. Hart scored 43 seconds into the second period to make the score 1-1. Brendan Woods picked up the assist. Steve Hladin also scored for Georgetown. More assists for Georgetown came via Tyler MacPherson, Alex Botten, and Phil Kiss, who each chipped in one. Adrian Ignagni made 48 saves for the Buzzers on 51 shots. St. Michaels incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. The Raiders incurred 28 minutes in penalty time with four minors.
