Kingston's Casale deadly on offense in 5-2 win against Cobourg

Michael Casale was all over the ice for the Kingston Voyageurs, as he tallied two goals in Kingston's 5-2 win over the Cobourg Cougars.

Casale found the back of the net 2:40 into the second period to make the score 3-1 Kingston and again while 11:02 into the second to make the score 4-1 Kingston.

After the loss made the series score 3-1 in the best of seven series, Cobourg faces elimination next time out.

The Voyageurs pulled out the victory even though they were hit with 14 penalty minutes.

Kingston kept the Cougars' goalie busy throughout the game, and Evan Cormier APM made 36 saves on 41 shots.

Kingston additionally got points from David Quesnele, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. Kingston also got a goal from Kris Grant as well. In addition, Kingston received assists from Josh Hicks, Michael Schug, Brandon O Quinn, Dylan Hutton, Brad Vaughn, and Ludlow Harris, who each chipped in one.

Cobourg's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on seven Kingston power plays. The Voyageurs were unable to stop the Cougars from sending pucks towards the net, and Cobourg eventually piled up 44 shots on goal.

The Cougars were helped by Justin Danforth, who registered one goal. Danforth scored 17:32 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Taylor Gauld assisted on the tally. Colbie Andrews also scored for Cobourg. Other players who recorded assists for Cobourg were Dylan Goddard, Evan Jasper, and Connor Armour, who contributed one a piece.

Kingston's Charlie Finn stopped 42 shots out of the 44 that he faced. Cobourg incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. The Cougars ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Mark MacAulay was ejected from the game.
