Cobourg holds on for 4-2 win against KingstonINVISTA Center Sun, Mar 17, 2013 Story by Narrative Science.
The Kingston Voyageurs tried their best to erase a three-goal deficit, but the Cobourg Cougars would not be denied the victory and hung on to win, 4-2. Cobourg made the score 4-1 on a goal by Mark MacAulay at 13:47 in the second period, and Kingston got as close as 4-2 when Brett Du Puy scored 12:49 into the third period. The win moved the Cougars to down 2-1 in the best of seven series. Evan Jasper had two goals to lead Cobourg to victory. Jasper's tallies came at 1:17 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Cobourg and 19:45 into the first to make the score 3-0 Cobourg. The Cougars' offense rang up 36 shots on the Voyageurs' net. Cobourg also got points from Jake Emilio, who also racked up one goal and one assist. More assists for Cobourg came via Matt Martin, Colbie Andrews, Justin Danforth, and Conner Hogg, who contributed one a piece. Cobourg was unable to stop Kingston from sending pucks towards the net, and the Voyageurs eventually piled up 38 shots on goal. Francesco Vilardi also scored for Kingston. In addition, Kingston received assists from Scott Mossman, Dylan Hutton, and Ludlow Harris, who each chipped in one. Evan Cormier APM recorded 36 saves for the Cougars. Cobourg incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Charlie Finn made 32 saves for Kingston on 36 shots. The Voyageurs incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
