Lichtenvoort's hat trick boosts Peoria over Queen City, 4-1

The Queen City Steam could not stop the Peoria Mustangs' Cody Lichtenvoort, who tallied a hat trick in a 4-1 win.

Lichtenvoort notched his first tally 34 seconds into the second period. He then added goals at 3:14 into the second and at 12:12 into the second.

The win by Peoria clinched the best of five series at 3-0.

The Mustangs were led by goalie Michael Parda, who finished with 33 saves while allowing one goal. Despite the solid performance, Parda will actually see his goals against average rise, as it stood at 0.67 entering the contest.

Peoria's defensemen played an important role in the offense, chipping in two goals.

Peoria additionally got points from Lyndon Fields, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Peoria also got a goal from Cory Kettler as well. In addition, Peoria received assists from Nikolas Sakellaropoulos and Connor Millard, who each chipped in two.

The Mustangs were unable to stop Queen City from sending pucks towards the net, and the Steam eventually piled up 34 shots on goal.

Peoria incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with eight minors. Alec Rounds made 20 saves for Queen City on 24 shots. The Steam incurred 24 minutes in penalty time with seven minors.
