The Alexandria Blizzard survived a determined comeback attempt by the Granite City Lumberjacks on the way to a 3-2 win. Alexandria took a 3-1 lead during the third period, only to have Granite City storm back on a Aidan Verbeke goal 19:55 into the third period to pull to one goal down. After the loss made the series score 1-2 in the best of five series, the Lumberjacks face elimination next time out. Ian Eckland had two goals to lead the Blizzard to victory. Alexandria's offense rang up 56 shots on Granite City's net. Karson Kuntz also scored for Alexandria. In addition, Alexandria received assists from Danny Pelzer, who had two and Richie Brown, Tanner Duffney, and Tom Schmidt, who each chipped in one. Granite City also got a goal from Eric Miller as well. Other players who recorded assists for Granite City were Matt Peterson, who had one. Dom DeGuisseppi rejected 26 shots on goal for the Blizzard. Alexandria incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Scott Murray recorded 53 saves for the Lumberjacks. Granite City incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors.
