Lambeth falls to Ayr in overtime, 5-4 (OT)

The Ayr Centennials pulled out a 5-4 (OT) overtime victory over the Lambeth Lancers on a clutch goal by Brandon Christopher.

The win gave Ayr a 2-0 lead in the best of seven series.

The Centennials overcame a three-goal deficit to capture the victory. Ayr trailed 4-1 after a goal by Lambeth's Warren Hargraves at 15:38 in the second period. The Centennials tied things up at 4-4 on a power play goal by Declan Kaster at 9:56 in the third period.

Ayr's offense rang up 45 shots on the Lancers' net.

Ayr also got points from Kaster, who also had one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Adam Fisher also scored for Ayr. In addition, Ayr received assists from Andrew Richard, Spencer Sweazy, Brett Gibson, Nick Hirs, and Mike McKnight, who each chipped in one.

The Centennials were unable to stop Lambeth from sending pucks towards the net, and the Lancers eventually piled up 36 shots on goal.

Lambeth additionally got points from Carter Allen, who also registered one goal and one assist. More assists for Lambeth came via Ryan Pennington, who had one, Brandon Robbins, who had two, and Mike Golinowski, who had three.

Lee Doherty recorded 32 saves for Ayr. The Centennials incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. Lambeth's JP Trudell stopped 40 shots out of the 45 that he faced. The Lancers incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors.
