Ayr pulls away in second, rolls over Lambeth, 5-1

The Ayr Centennials used a three-goal second period to put away the Lambeth Lancers, 5-1.

The win gave Ayr a 1-0 lead in the best of seven series.

The Centennials were paced by Declan Kaster, who racked up one goal and one assist. Kaster scored 31 seconds into the second period to make the score 2-0 Ayr. Alex Richard picked up the assist.

Ayr also had goals scored by Adam Fisher, who had two and Connor McLeod and Mike McKnight, who each put in one. In addition, Ayr received assists from Jordan Eby, who had one, Brandon Christopher, who had two, and Brett Gibson, who had three.

Lambeth's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on six Ayr power plays.

Ayr's Lee Doherty stopped 20 shots out of the 21 that he faced. The Centennials incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. JP Trudell made 25 saves for the Lancers on 30 shots. Lambeth incurred 20 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
