Junior Bruins uses fast start to beat Suffolk Juniors, 7-2

Junior Bruins opened up a four-goal lead after the first period and did not look back en route to a 7-2 over Suffolk Juniors.

The win gave Junior Bruins a 1-0 lead in the best of one series.

Junior Bruins' penalty kill excelled, as Junior Bruins gave up zero goals despite allowing eight power plays.

Junior Bruins was sparked by Dommichael Piccini, who had one goal and one assist. Piccini scored 1:25 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Junior Bruins.

Junior Bruins stifled Suffolk Juniors' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Junior Bruins forced Suffolk Juniors goalie Anthony Pupplo to work between the pipes, taking 51 shots. Team's forwards weren't the only contributers offensively, and the team's defensemen showcased their scoring touch with two goals.

Junior Bruins additionally got points from Jordan Hanahan, who also registered one goal and one assist and Tucker Falk, who also tallied one goal and one assist. John Buchanan also scored for Junior Bruins. In addition, Junior Bruins received assists from Ryan Azar, who had two and Kyle Chumsae and Daniel Resop, who each chipped in one.

Suffolk Juniors was led by Joseph Quinn, who tallied two goals. Quinn scored the first of his two goals at 9:34 into the second period to make the score 5-1 Junior Bruins. Salvatore Geraci picked up the assist. Quinn's next tally made the score 7-2 Junior Bruins with 4:59 left in the third period. Suffolk Juniors played down a man on Michael Vaiano's roughing. Anthony Modica provided the assist.

Benjamin Gagnon recorded 24 saves for Junior Bruins. Junior Bruins incurred 24 minutes in penalty time with 12 minors. Anthony Pupplo made 44 saves for Suffolk Juniors on 51 shots. Suffolk Juniors ended with 51 minutes in penalty time with eight minors and one major. For Suffolk Juniors, Daniel Lore was ejected from the game.
