Huge game by Fernandes boosts Boch Blazers over Brewster Bulldogs, 5-0

Joseph Fernandes had one goal and two assists to lead Boch Blazers to a 5-0 victory over Brewster Bulldogs.

Fernandes got on the board by slotting home a short handed goal 10:53 into the second period to make the score 1-0 Boch Blazers. Boch Blazers was on a disadvantage when Emilio Botelho went off the ice for roughing. Colin Cordeiro provided the assist. Fernandes dished an assist on Patrick Hayes's goal that made the score 4-0 Boch Blazers at 1:22 into the third period. He added another helper on Kurtis Garcia's goal that made the score 5-0 Boch Blazers at 5:34 into the third period.

The win gave Boch Blazers a 1-0 lead in the best of one series.

Boch Blazers pulled out the victory even though it was hit with 31 penalty minutes.

Boch Blazers excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in seven chances. Boch Blazers kept Brewster Bulldogs' goalie busy throughout the game, and Matthew Rubenstein made 47 saves on 52 shots.

Trevor Berman also scored for Boch Blazers. More assists for Boch Blazers came via Ryan McCarthy and Sean Lowe, who each chipped in one.

Cody Stocker made 21 saves for Boch Blazers on 21 shots. Boch Blazers registered two goals on six power play opportunities. Boch Blazers ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Caleb Doherty was ejected from the game. Brewster Bulldogs incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with nine minors.
