Yellowstone Quake rips Gillette Wild, 7-3

Yellowstone Quake had a three-goal lead after two periods and cruised the rest of the way en route to a 7-3 win over Gillette Wild.

The win by Yellowstone Quake clinched the best of five series at 3-0.

Trent Carter was all over the ice for Yellowstone Quake, as he tallied two goals and one assist in the win. Carter scored the first of his two goals at 1:09 into the second period to make the score 3-0 Yellowstone Quake. Anthony Leong picked up the assist. Carter's next tally made the score 4-0 Yellowstone Quake with 11:32 left in the second period. Leong provided the assist.

Yellowstone Quake additionally got points from Brandon Smith, who also finished with one goal and one assist, Orri Haman, who also grabbed one goal and one assist, Brandon Busse, who also racked up one goal and two assists, Sam Basich, who also tallied one goal and one assist, and Bryan Standly, who also finished with one goal and one assist. Other players who recorded assists for Yellowstone Quake were Tanner Fricke, Josh Greenaker, and Josh Neumann, who each chipped in one.

Yellowstone Quake was unable to stop Gillette Wild from sending pucks towards the net, and Gillette Wild eventually piled up 40 shots on goal. Gillette Wild did not rack up many penalties in the contest, registering only one minor for two minutes in penalty time.

Gillette Wild was helped by Taylor Motsinger, who had one goal and one assist. Motsinger scored 15:02 into the second period to make the score 5-2 Yellowstone Quake. Gillette Wild also got points from Tyson Loundagin, who also registered one goal and one assist. Alex King also scored for Gillette Wild. More assists for Gillette Wild came via Moco Willis and Darren Banks, who contributed one a piece.

Yellowstone Quake's Jared Schletty stopped 37 shots out of the 40 that he faced. Yellowstone Quake incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Gillette Wild's starting goalie, Brandon Kruckenberg, made nine saves and finished with the loss before he was taken out in favor of Nick Vittori, who stopped three shots. Gillette Wild registered one goal on three power play opportunities.
