A hat trick by Alex Garon was the highlight in 73s' 7-4 win against the Wheatley Sharks. Garon notched his first tally 4:09 into the first period. He then added goals at 6:10 into the first and at 18:27 into the second.The win by the Essex 73s clinched the best of seven series at 4-0. Essex kept Wheatley's goalie busy throughout the game, and Marc Tremblay made 24 saves on 31 shots. Essex additionally got points from Jordan Brohman, who also finished with three goals and two assists. Matthew Hebert also scored for Essex. More assists for Essex came via Kevin Boggs, Adam Dunmore, and Aaron Thibert, who contributed one a piece and Blaise Baillargeon and Corey Beaulieu, who each chipped in two. The Sharks were helped by Eric Rivard, who grabbed one goal. Rivard scored 13:30 into the second period to make the score 4-3 Essex. Frankie Ciacelli picked up the assist. Wheatley also got points from Riley Babkirk, who also had one goal and one assist. Wheatley also got a goal from Brett Babkirk as well. In addition, Wheatley received assists from Kyle Quick, who had two and Brian Johnson, Dylan Impens, and Brendon Anger, who contributed one a piece. The 73s' Trevor Wheaton stopped 20 shots out of the 24 that he faced. Essex incurred 44 minutes in penalty time with 12 minors. For the 73s, Marco Canzoneri was ejected from the game. Wheatley incurred 34 minutes in penalty time with 12 minors.
