Lakefield rolls over Uxbridge, 6-3Uxbridge Arena Fri, Mar 15, 2013 Story by Narrative Science.
The Lakefield Chiefs had a two-goal lead after two periods and cruised the rest of the way en route to a 6-3 win over the Uxbridge Bruins. The win by Lakefield clinched the best of seven series at 4-1. The Chiefs got the win behind a great game by Nathan Larson, who had one goal and two assists. Larson scored 5:30 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Lakefield. Travis Brault assisted on the tally. Lakefield pulled out the victory even though it was hit with 12 penalty minutes. Lakefield also got points from Gregory Jesse, who also registered one goal and one assist and Brault, who also had one goal and one assist. Lakefield also got a goal from Riley Campbell as well. More assists for Lakefield came via Ryan Anderson, Jordan Walsh, Ryan Saunders, and Connor Blair, who each chipped in one. Uxbridge was helped by Keegan Cairns, who racked up two goals. Cairns scored the first of his two goals at 9:09 into the second period to make the score 3-1 Lakefield. Justin Bean provided the assist. Cairns' next tally made the score 3-2 Lakefield with 2:52 left in the second period. The Bruins had gained a power play chance when Saunders was whistled for slashing. Matthew Allen picked up the assist. Joey Vocino also scored for Uxbridge. Other players who recorded assists for Uxbridge were Callum Lynch, who had one. The Chiefs registered one goal on three power play opportunities. Uxbridge incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. |
