The Uxbridge Bruins could not stop the Lakefield Chiefs' Gregory Jesse, who tallied a hat trick in a 5-3 win. Jesse notched his first tally 9:42 into the first period. He then added goals at 17:01 into the third and at 19:16 into the third.The win gave Lakefield a 2-0 lead in the best of seven series. The Chiefs' offense rang up 37 shots on Uxbridge's net. Lakefield also got points from Curtis Bolton, who also racked up one goal and one assist and Derek Manley, who also tallied one goal and two assists. More assists for Lakefield came via Connor Blair, who had one and Jordan Walsh, who had four. The Bruins were helped by Jarett Smith, who grabbed one goal. Smith scored 50 seconds into the second period to make the score 2-1 Lakefield. Joey Vocino picked up the assist. Patrick Morgan also scored for Uxbridge. In addition, Uxbridge received assists from Justin Bean, who had two and Callum Lynch, who had three. Lakefield's starting goalie, Dustin Cook, made 10 saves and finished with the win before he was taken out in favor of Zach Wainman, who stopped 11 shots. The Chiefs totaled 19 minutes in penalty time with seven minors and one major and went 1-for-8 on the power play. Lakefield ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Nathan Larson was ejected from the game. Uxbridge's Brandon Francey stopped 32 shots out of the 37 that he faced. The Bruins totaled 23 minutes in penalty time with nine minors and one major and went 2-for-6 on the power play. For Uxbridge, Steve Doutsis was ejected from the game.
