Brindle leads Alliston to shutout victory over Midland

Tyler Brindle was superb between the pipes for the Alliston Hornets, as he did not allow a goal in a 4-0 victory over the Midland Flyers.

After the loss made the series score 3-1 in the best of seven series, Midland faces elimination next time out.

Nic Archibald had one goal and two assists to lead Alliston. Archibald scored 8:18 into the second period to make the score 1-0 Alliston. William Bradon picked up the assist.

The Hornets put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow the Flyers to score on any of their three power plays. Midland was unable to stop Alliston from sending pucks towards the net, and the Hornets eventually piled up 36 shots on goal.

Alliston additionally got points from Tanner Dockerty, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Andre Lessard also scored for Alliston. More assists for Alliston came via Zack Byblow, Kory Brown, and Ashton Duthie, who contributed one a piece.

The Flyers stifled Alliston's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man.

Tyler Brindle made 29 saves for the Hornets on 29 shots. Alliston incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Midland's Connor Akins stopped 32 shots out of the 36 that he faced. The Flyers incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
