The Midland Flyers could not stop the Alliston Hornets' Mike Campeau, who tallied a hat trick in a 7-0 win. Campeau got on the scoresheet 4:10 into the first period. He then added goals at 4:17 into the second and at 16:28 into the second.The win gave Alliston a 2-0 lead in the best of seven series. The Hornets' penalty kill excelled, as Alliston gave up zero goals despite allowing six power plays. Referees had their hands full with a major incident at 13:25 into the third period. Four fighting penalties were dished out along with two game misconducts. The Hornets stifled Midland's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Alliston also got points from Mark ODonnell, who also had one goal and one assist. Alliston also got a goal from Alex Daley as well. More assists for Alliston came via Zack Byblow, who had two and Cole Parker, Randy Cox, Andre Lessard, William Bradon, and Drake Board, who each chipped in one. Tyler Brindle made 22 saves for Alliston on 22 shots. The Hornets totaled 61 minutes in penalty time with 13 minors and one major and went 3-for-17 on the power play. For Alliston, Parker was ejected from the game. The Flyers' starting goalie, Marco Colangelo, made seven saves and finished with the loss before he was taken out in favor of Connor Akins, who stopped 15 shots. Midland ended with 89 minutes in penalty time with 17 minors and one major. The Flyers ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Zach Leduc was ejected from the game. |
