South Shore completes comeback, beats Bay State, 8-7

The South Shore Kings climbed out of a three-goal hole to beat the Bay State Breakers, 8-7.

South Shore never led in the game until netting the game winner. The Kings was down 3-0 after a goal by Bay State's Nicholas Russo at 9:20 in the first period. South Shore knotted things up at 7-7 on a goal by Owen Campbell at 8:12 in the third period. The Kings scored the game winner at 13:39 in the third period on a goal by Campbell.

The win gave South Shore a 1-0 lead in the best of one series.

Daniel Clifford and Campbell provided the spark for the Kings, combining for four goals and two assists. Clifford had two goals and two assists and Campbell also added two goals.

South Shore's offense rang up 40 shots on the Breakers' net. The defensemen of the Kings were also effective in Bay State's zone, and came away with two goals.

South Shore additionally got points from Stephen Rocchio, who also finished with one goal and one assist and Philip Falkof, who also registered one goal and one assist. South Shore also got a goal from Arturs Buss as well. In addition, South Shore received assists from Corey Flynn, Evan Jacques, Kyle Peterson, and William Parlon, who each chipped in one.

The Breakers forced South Shore goalie James Dunn to work between the pipes, taking 40 shots. Bay State got an offensive boost from its blueliners, who contributed two goals during the game.

The Breakers were led by Bradley Power, who grabbed three goals and one assist. Bay State also got points from Ryan ODonnell, who also had one goal and two assists and Russo, who also finished with one goal and one assist. John Duranczyk also scored for Bay State. More assists for Bay State came via Alex Soviero, Charles Murphy, Henry Nelson, and Dan Gibbons, who contributed one a piece.

Dunn rejected 33 shots on goal for the Kings. South Shore incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. Redmund Hunt recorded 32 saves for Bay State. The Breakers incurred 20 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
