A stellar performance between the pipes by PJ Bridges helped the Waterloo Siskins defeat the Stratford Cullitons, 2-1. After the loss made the series score 2-3 in the best of seven series, Stratford faces elimination next time out. Waterloo was sparked by Matt Cruickshank, who finished with one goal. Cruickshank scored 6:43 into the third period to make the score 2-1 Waterloo. Christian Mroczkowski assisted on the tally. The Siskins' offense rang up 39 shots on the Cullitons' net. Danny Hanlon also scored for Waterloo. Other players who recorded assists for Waterloo were Evan Buehler, who had two. Stratford put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Waterloo to score on any of its three power plays. The Cullitons were led by Mitch Vandergunst, who scored the team's only goal. Vandergunst scored 1:55 into the third period to make the score 1-1. Ryan Watson provided the assist. Bridges recorded 26 saves for the Siskins. Waterloo incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. Nick Caldwell made 37 saves for Stratford on 39 shots. The Cullitons incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
