Glanbrook downs Grimsby in overtime, 3-2 (OT)

The Glanbrook Rangers pulled out a 3-2 (OT) overtime victory over the Grimsby Peach Kings on a clutch goal by Brandon Elliot.

With the win, Glanbrook evened the series at 1-1 in the best of seven showdown.

The Rangers pulled out the victory even though they were hit with 22 penalty minutes.

Glanbrook was sparked by Elliot, who finished with one goal. Elliot scored 1:59 into overtime to make the score 3-2 Glanbrook.

The Rangers excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in seven chances. Grimsby was unable to stop Glanbrook from sending pucks towards the net, and the Rangers eventually piled up 33 shots on goal.

Alexander Cappelletti also scored for Glanbrook. More assists for Glanbrook came via Curtis Edwards, Connor McLoughlin, Anthony Sanelli, and Chad Edwards, who each chipped in one.

The Peach Kings were helped by Mathew Paonessa, who tallied one goal. Paonessa scored 11:12 into the second period to make the score 2-2. Jordan McCarl picked up the assist. Grimsby also got a goal from Anthony Pullia as well. Other players who recorded assists for Grimsby were Robert Wormald and Jacob Tuck, who contributed one a piece.

Glanbrook's Matt Sagrott stopped 21 shots out of the 23 that he faced. The Rangers registered two goals on six power play opportunities. Jeremy Currie rejected 30 shots on goal for Grimsby. The Peach Kings incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with eight minors.
