DURHAM WEST had a three-goal lead after two periods and cruised the rest of the way en route to a 5-1 win over OAKVILLE.

The win by DURHAM WEST clinched the best of five series at 3-0.

DURHAM WEST was led by Stephanie Cooper, who had one goal. Cooper scored 13:31 into the first period to make the score 2-0 DURHAM WEST. Samantha McKenzie picked up the assist.

DURHAM WEST put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow OAKVILLE to score on any of its three power plays. DURHAM WEST forced OAKVILLE goalie Camille Leonard to work between the pipes, taking 34 shots.

DURHAM WEST also got points from Dana Fairbarn, who also registered one goal and one assist. DURHAM WEST also got a goal from Kennedy Marchment as well. Other players who recorded assists for DURHAM WEST were SaraJane Pratt, who had two and Dakota Waites, Victoria Bugg, Carly Marchment (C), and Lindsay Johnston, who contributed one a piece.

OAKVILLE found itself stymied offensively, and got off a mere nine shots against DURHAM WEST's defense.

Jackie Rochefort made eight saves for DURHAM WEST on nine shots. DURHAM WEST incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Leonard rejected 29 shots on goal for OAKVILLE. OAKVILLE incurred 24 minutes in penalty time with seven minors.
