St. Thomas survives London comeback, wins 5-4Western Fair CC Sat, Mar 02, 2013 Story by Narrative Science.
The London Nationals tried to dig themselves out of a two-goal hole, but the St. Thomas Stars held on for a 5-4 victory. St. Thomas took a 5-3 lead during the third period, only to have London storm back on a Sean Consitt goal 15:09 into the third period to pull to one goal down. The win moved the Stars to down 2-1 in the best of seven series. Colin Mooney had two goals to lead St. Thomas to victory. The Stars kept the Nationals' goalie busy throughout the game, and Taylor Edwards made 26 saves on 31 shots. Others who scored for St. Thomas included Kevin Zacharuk, who had one and Drew Collinson, who had two. In addition, St. Thomas received assists from Mike Iacocca, who had two and Ryan Hamelin, Martin Kudla, Matt Tsioros, and Reid Oliver, who contributed one a piece. St. Thomas was unable to stop London from sending pucks towards the net, and the Nationals eventually piled up 34 shots on goal. London also got points from Tyler Bryden, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. London also got a goal from Derek Todosichuk as well. More assists for London came via Noah Schwartz and Matt Wildman, who each chipped in one and Blake Thomas and Jeff Bauer, who contributed two a piece. Devin Golets made 30 saves for the Stars on 34 shots. St. Thomas incurred 22 minutes in penalty time with six minors. London incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
