WHITBY relied on the scoring touch of Alex Moore, who netted two goals, to beat BARRIE, 4-0. Moore found the back of the net 33 seconds into the first period to make the score 1-0 WHITBY and again while 9:06 into the second to make the score 2-0 WHITBY.WHITBY evened the best of five series at 2-2 and forced a deciding game five. BARRIE's power play was ineffective against WHITBY's penalty kill, which allowed zero goals while shorthanded. WHITBY put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow BARRIE to score on any of its six power plays. WHITBY also got points from Cassidy Vinkle, who also finished with two goals and one assist. More assists for WHITBY came via Hailey Noronha, Rhyen McGill, Krista Yip-Chuck, and Nicole Martindale, who each chipped in one. BARRIE stifled WHITBY's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. BARRIE's offense was handcuffed by WHITBY's defensive play, and BARRIE managed only 11 shots on goal during the game. Marissa Kozovski rejected 11 shots on goal for WHITBY. WHITBY incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with nine minors. BARRIE's Sarah Stephens stopped 24 shots out of the 28 that she faced. BARRIE incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. |
