WHITBY survived a determined comeback attempt by BARRIE on the way to a 4-2 win. WHITBY took a 4-1 lead during the third period, only to have BARRIE storm back on a Alex Bond goal 14:55 into the third period to pull to two goals down. After the loss made the series score 1-2 in the best of five series, BARRIE faces elimination next time out. Cassidy Vinkle had two goals to lead WHITBY to victory. Vinkle scored at 4:16 into the first period to make the score 1-0 WHITBY and again while 12:32 into the first to make the score 2-0 WHITBY. WHITBY excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in three chances. WHITBY kept BARRIE's goalie busy throughout the game, and Sarah Stephens made 35 saves on 39 shots. Rhyen McGill also scored for WHITBY. Other players who recorded assists for WHITBY were Alex Moore, who had one and CJ Tipping and Hanna Bunton, who each chipped in two. BARRIE's penalty kill unit could not stop WHITBY's power play, which converted on two of three opportunities. BARRIE also got a goal from Justine Treadwell (C) as well. More assists for BARRIE came via Alora Keers (A), Tara Morning, and Laura McKenzie, who contributed one a piece. Hannah Baker rejected 17 shots on goal for WHITBY. WHITBY incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. BARRIE incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
