NEPEAN uses shootout to best AURORA, 3-2 (1-0 SO)

Three periods of regulation and an overtime session were not enough to settle matters as NEPEAN defeated AURORA in a shootout 3-2 (1-0 SO).

The shootout featured six attempts between both teams.

After the loss made the series score 1-2 in the best of five series, AURORA faces elimination next time out.

NEPEAN overcame a two-goal deficit to capture the victory. NEPEAN was down 2-0 after a goal by AURORA's Maddison Lee at 1:44 in the third period. NEPEAN tied things up at 2-2 on a goal by Lindsay Eastwood at 10:24 in the third period.

NEPEAN took advantage of AURORA's penalties, tallying two goals off of three power play opportunities.

NEPEAN additionally got points from Sam Cogan, who also had one goal and one assist. More assists for NEPEAN came via Katryne Villeneuve and Josiane Pozzebon, who contributed one a piece.

AURORA was led by Kayla Jardine, who registered one goal and one assist. Jardine scored 11:22 into the first period to make the score 1-0 AURORA. In addition, AURORA received assists from Lauren Cavarzan, who had one.

Makayla Campbell recorded 27 saves for NEPEAN. NEPEAN incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. AURORA's Paula Voorheis stopped 26 shots out of the 28 that she faced. AURORA incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
