AURORA's Courtney Brindamour-McClure(A) scored 5:19 into overtime to beat NEPEAN, 2-1 (OT). The win gave AURORA a 1-0 lead in the best of five series. AURORA's Paula Voorheis was a brick wall in net, as she came up with 27 saves and let only one puck past him. Despite the solid performance, Voorheis will actually see her goals against average rise, as it stood at 1.08 entering the contest. AURORA was led by Brindamour-McClure(A), who had one goal. AURORA excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in three chances. Brianna Veerman(A) also scored for AURORA. In addition, AURORA received assists from Caroline DeBruin(A), Alie Brindamour-McClure(A), Christina Ieradi, and Shayla Hele, who each chipped in one. NEPEAN stifled AURORA's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. NEPEAN was led by Sam Cogan, who scored the team's only goal. Cogan scored 4:50 into the first period to make the score 1-0 NEPEAN. Katryne Villeneuve picked up the assist. AURORA incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Makayla Campbell rejected 24 shots on goal for NEPEAN. NEPEAN incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
