Welland downs Stoney Creek in overtime, 3-2 (OT)

The Welland Jr. Canadians' Lapine Rob scored 7:43 into overtime to beat the Stoney Creek Warriors, 3-2 (OT).

After the loss made the series score 3-1 in the best of seven series, Stoney Creek faces elimination next time out.

Welland's penalty kill excelled, as the Jr. Canadians gave up one goal despite allowing six power plays.

Welland was sparked by Rob, who had one goal.

The Warriors were unable to stop the Jr. Canadians from sending pucks towards the net, and Welland eventually piled up 33 shots on goal.

Matt Gillard also scored for Welland. Other players who recorded assists for Welland were Aaron Beally, Adam Mataya, Chris Brown, Josh Gervais, Matthew Mateljan, and Braden Curry, who contributed one a piece.

Stoney Creek stifled the Jr. Canadians' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Warriors' offense rang up 37 shots on Welland's net.

Stoney Creek was helped by Cordell James, who registered one goal. James scored on the power play 15:48 into the second period to make the score 1-1. Marco Mattina picked up the assist. Stoney Creek also got a goal from Harry Polyoka as well.

Chris McDougall made 35 saves for the Jr. Canadians on 37 shots. Welland incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Blake Richard rejected 30 shots on goal for the Warriors. Stoney Creek incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
