Leslie nets hat trick, leads OTTAWA to 5-3 win over MISSISSAUGA

MISSISSAUGA could not stop OTTAWA's Rebecca Leslie, who tallied a hat trick in a 5-3 win.

Leslie got on the scoresheet 4:40 into the first period. He then added goals at 14:28 into the second and at 15:15 into the third.

After the loss made the series score 1-2 in the best of five series, MISSISSAUGA faces elimination next time out.

OTTAWA led by three goals at one point and ended with the victory. The largest advantage in the game came when OTTAWA's Katelyn Fournier's scored at 10:02 in the first period to put OTTAWA up 3-0.

OTTAWA also got points from Fournier, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Mackenzie Coney also scored for OTTAWA. In addition, OTTAWA received assists from Amanda Titus, who had two and Kayla Carter, Meghan Carty, Erin Sauve, Stacy Galasso, and Samantha Morell, who each chipped in one.

MISSISSAUGA kept OTTAWA's goalie busy throughout the game, and Sarah McGall made 39 saves on 42 shots. MISSISSAUGA did not rack up many penalties in the contest, tallying just one minor for two minutes in penalty time.

MISSISSAUGA was helped by Kristyn Capizzano, who had one goal. Capizzano scored 11:14 into the second period to make the score 3-3. Victoria Bach assisted on the tally. MISSISSAUGA also got a goal from Hayley Masters as well. Other players who recorded assists for MISSISSAUGA were Kaitlin Doering, who had one and Mikaela Lowater, who had three.

OTTAWA incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. MISSISSAUGA's starting goalie, Amelia Boughn, made 15 saves and finished with the loss before she was taken out in favor of Alysia DaSilva, who stopped three shots. MISSISSAUGA registered two goals on five power play opportunities.
