LaSalle uses early goal to top Strathroy, 2-0

The LaSalle Vipers beat the Strathroy Rockets, 2-0, in a contest where the winning goal was scored in the first period but the game remained close throughout.

A goal 10:04 into the the first period by Scott Prier proved to be the game winner, and powered LaSalle to the victory The Vipers had gotten the advantage when Strathroy's Nick Boyer was sent off for tripping. Dylan Denomme picked up the assist.

The win gave LaSalle a 1-0 lead in the best of seven series.

The Vipers were sparked by Prier, who finished with one goal.

LaSalle's offense rang up 35 shots on the Rockets' net.

Richard Villani also scored for LaSalle. More assists for LaSalle came via Korey Morgan, who had one and Eric Noel, who had two.

Taylor Speed rejected 23 shots on goal for the Vipers. LaSalle incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. Dalen Kuchmey recorded 33 saves for Strathroy. The Rockets incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
