Lindsay downs Aurora, 6-2Lindsay Recreation Centre Fri, Mar 08, 2013 Story by Narrative Science.
Dylan Fitze tallied one point to lead the Lindsay Muskies to a 6-2 victory over the Aurora Tigers. The win by Lindsay clinched the best of seven series at 4-2. The Muskies forced Aurora's goaltenders to work without much rest, taking 37 shots and forcing 31 saves. Kevin Entmaa made 26 stops and Brett Sinclair made five. Lindsay put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow the Tigers to score on any of their five power plays. Lindsay also got points from Felix Chamberland, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Vince Herlihey also scored for Lindsay. In addition, Lindsay received assists from Corey Jackson, who had two and Cole Murduff, Kurt Gottschalk, Dean Klomp, William Pelletier, Jake Taylor, and William Sullivan, who contributed one a piece. Aurora stifled the Muskies' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Lindsay was unable to stop the Tigers from sending pucks towards the net, and Aurora eventually piled up 37 shots on goal. The Tigers were helped by Daniel Clairmont, who had one goal. Clairmont scored 14:23 into the first period to make the score 2-1 Lindsay. Zack MacArthur picked up the assist. Aurora also got a goal from Kyle Liu as well. Other players who recorded assists for Aurora were Taylor McCloy and David Iacono, who each chipped in one. Tanner Davis recorded 35 saves for the Muskies. Lindsay incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Aurora incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
