Dorchester holds on for 6-4 win against Lambeth

The Lambeth Lancers tried to dig themselves out of a six-goal hole, but the Dorchester Dolphins held on for a 6-4 victory.

A goal by Jacob Baribeau put Dorchester up 6-0 in the second period, but Lambeth pulled to within two on Mitch Furlonger's tally 19:48 into the third period.

The Dolphins evened the best of seven series at 3-3 and forced a deciding game seven.

Dorchester made the Lancers' goaltenders to work between the pipes, taking 36 shots and forcing 30 saves. JP Trudell made 14 stops and Logan Ferrington made 16. The Dolphins' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on four Lambeth power plays.

Dorchester was helped by Brendon O Shaughnessy, who registered one goal and one assist. O Shaughnessy scored 17:07 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Dorchester. Patrick Freel assisted on the tally. Brady Veroughstraete also scored for Dorchester. In addition, Dorchester received assists from Chris Buckholz, Jesiah Sweetland, Tommy Prokes, and Bryan McCauley, who contributed one a piece.

Lambeth stifled the Dolphins' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man.

Others who scored for Lambeth included Brandon Robbins, who had one and Justin Clark, who had two. More assists for Lambeth came via Riley Gilmore, who had two and Nick North, Warren Hargraves, and Conor Chilvers, who each chipped in one.

Alex Hutcheson rejected 25 shots on goal for Dorchester. The Dolphins incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Dorchester ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Matt Cormier was ejected from the game. The Lancers incurred 20 minutes in penalty time with five minors. For Lambeth, Chilvers was ejected from the game.
