Dorchester blows out Lambeth, 8-1SOJHL Sat, Feb 23, 2013 Story by Narrative Science.
The Dorchester Dolphins were firing on all cylinders against the Lambeth Lancers, and when the final buzzer sounded Dolphins emerged with an 8-1 win. With the win, Dorchester evened the series at 1-1 in the best of seven showdown. Jacob Baribeau had two goals and one assist to lead the Dolphins. Baribeau scored the first of his two goals on the power play at 8:10 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Dorchester. A hooking penalty on Matt Schurr had put Dorchester on the power play. Bryan McCauley provided the assist. Baribeau's next tally on the power play made the score 5-0 Dorchester with 17:02 left in the second period. Chad Brulotte picked up the assist. The Dolphins forced Lambeth's netminders to work between the pipes, launching 33 shots and forcing 25 saves. JP Trudell made five stops and Logan Ferrington made 20. Dorchester got an offensive boost from its blueliners, who contributed two goals during the game. Dorchester also got points from Tyler Blue, who also grabbed one goal and two assists, Connor Lovell, who also racked up one goal and one assist, and McCauley, who also tallied one goal and two assists to lead the team in points. Others who scored for Dorchester included Matt Johnson, who had one and Brett VanDusen, who had two. More assists for Dorchester came via Tommy Prokes, who had two and Brady Veroughstraete, Brett Dzyngel, and Patrick Freel, who contributed one a piece. Justin Clark also scored for Lambeth. Alex Hutcheson rejected 27 shots on goal for the Dolphins. Dorchester incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with eight minors. The Lancers incurred 32 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Lambeth ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Cody Wuytenburg was ejected from the game.
