Breck School downs Delano/Rockford, 6-2

Mark Sharp tallied one point to lead the Breck School Mustangs to a 6-2 victory over the Delano/Rockford Tigers.

 

With this win The Breck School Mustangs move on the Xcel Energy Center for this years' Class A State Tourney which they are all too familiar with having been a frequent participant.

Delano/Rockford was unable to stop the Mustangs from sending pucks towards the net, and Breck School eventually piled up 49 shots on goal. The Mustangs did not rack up many penalties in the contest, tallying a minimal one minor for two minutes in penalty time.

Breck School additionally got points from Chase Ellingson, who also finished with one goal and two assists, Jack o''Connor, who also registered one goal and one assist, and Michael Orke, who also racked up one goal and two assists to lead the team in points. Thomas Lindstrom also scored for Breck School. More assists for Breck School came via Andrew Keiser, Matt Colford, Ben Gleekel, and Justin Paulson, who each chipped in one.

The Tigers' offense were handcuffed by Breck School's defensive play, and Delano/Rockford managed only 14 shots on goal during the game.

The Tigers were helped by Eric Ylitalo, who had one goal. Ylitalo scored 14:12 into the first period to make the score 2-2. Delano/Rockford also got a goal from Adam McLain as well. Other players who recorded assists for Delano/Rockford were Nate Meyers and Justin Oja, who contributed one a piece.

The Mustangs' Henry Johnson stopped 12 shots out of the 14 that he faced. Breck School registered zero goals on two power play opportunities. Aaron Grangroth rejected 43 shots on goal for Delano/Rockford. The Tigers incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors.
