Weber's big game bests Legacy Christian Academy in 3-1 Rogers win

The Rogers Royals' Nate Weber had a big offensive game, scoring two goals and contributing one assist in his team's 3-1 win over the Legacy Christian Academy Lions.

Weber scored on the power play at 6:30 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Rogers and again while 15:15 into the second to make the score 3-1 Rogers.

The win gave Rogers a 1-0 lead in the best of one series.

The Royals forced Legacy Christian Academy goalie Tanner Balk to work between the pipes, taking 37 shots.

Alexander Lorman also scored for Rogers. More assists for Rogers came via John Stanley, who had one.

Rogers' defense shut down the Lions' forwards for much of the game, and Legacy Christian Academy got off only 10 shots during the contest.

The Lions were led by Brandon Leier, who scored the team's only goal. Leier scored on the power play 2:34 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Legacy Christian Academy. Brock Thompson provided the assist.

The Royals' Blake Ternus stopped nine shots out of the 10 that he faced. Rogers incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Tanner Balk made 34 saves for Legacy Christian Academy on 37 shots. The Lions incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors.
