Marshall School Duluth survives Hibbing / Chisholm comeback, wins 3-2IRA Civic Center Sat, Feb 23, 2013 The Marshall School Duluth Hilltoppers survived a determined comeback attempt by the Hibbing / Chisholm Bluejackets on the way to a 3-2 win. Marshall School Duluth made the score 3-1 on a goal by Jack Dodd at 15:06 in the third period, and Hibbing / Chisholm got as close as 3-2 when Adam Johnson scored 16:17 into the third period. The win gave the Hilltoppers a 1-0 lead in the best of one series. Marshall School Duluth was paced by Dodd, who had one goal. The Hilltoppers forced the Bluejackets goalie Tyler Carlson to work between the pipes, taking 45 shots. Marshall School Duluth also got a goal from Luke Pavelich as well. More assists for Marshall School Duluth came via Nate Sepp, Kyle Jones, Kyle McKinzie, Joe Daly, Anthony Miller, and Cam McClure, who each chipped in one. Hibbing / Chisholm stifled Marshall School Duluth's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Ty Birdsall also scored for Hibbing / Chisholm. In addition, Hibbing / Chisholm received assists from Josh Bestul and Colten Perkins, who contributed one a piece. The Hilltoppers' Caden Flaherty stopped 25 shots out of the 27 that he faced. Marshall School Duluth incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Carlson rejected 42 shots on goal for the Bluejackets. Hibbing / Chisholm incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. |
