Detroit Lakes hangs on, beats Red Lake Falls 3-1Freeman Sports Detroit Lakes Tue, Feb 19, 2013 The Detroit Lakes Lakers beat the Red Lake Falls Eagles, 3-1, in a contest where the winning goal was scored in the first period but the game remained close throughout. Ryan Deconcini provided Detroit Lakes with the game-winning tally when he scored 14:02 into the the first period. Isaac Fondrick assisted on the tally.The win gave the Lakers a 1-0 lead in the best of one series. Casey Paskey had two goals to lead Detroit Lakes to victory. Paskey scored at 13:20 into the second period to make the score 2-0 Detroit Lakes and again while 1:28 into the third to make the score 3-1 Detroit Lakes. Red Lake Falls was unable to stop the Lakers from sending pucks towards the net, and Detroit Lakes eventually piled up 61 shots on goal. In addition, Detroit Lakes received assists from Michael Hermann, Austin Rusness, Dylan Bremseth, and Jonathan Hallisey, who each chipped in one. The Eagles were led by Ryan Amiot, who scored the team's only goal. Amiot scored 15 seconds into the third period to make the score 2-1 Detroit Lakes. Zack Landman picked up the assist. MacKenzie Steele rejected 18 shots on goal for the Lakers. Detroit Lakes incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors and had no power play opportunities. Wyatt Casavan recorded 58 saves for Red Lake Falls. The Eagles avoided the penalty box for the entire game and scored zero goals off of two power plays. |
