Hernon leads Bloomington Jefferson over Academy of Holy Angels, 7-4

The Bloomington Jefferson Jaguars' Collin Hernon had a big offensive game, scoring two goals and contributing one assist in his team's 7-4 win over the Academy of Holy Angels Stars.

Hernon scored at 8:28 into the second period to make the score 3-2 Bloomington Jefferson and again while 2:53 into the third to make the score 5-4 Bloomington Jefferson.

The win gave Bloomington Jefferson a 1-0 lead in the best of one series.

The Jaguars kept Academy of Holy Angels' goalie busy throughout the game, and Nik Schmitz made 25 saves on 32 shots.

Bloomington Jefferson also got points from Johnny Panvica, who also racked up two goals and two assists to lead the team in points and Jono Lindquist, who also registered one goal and one assist. Bloomington Jefferson also got a goal from Charlie Straus as well. More assists for Bloomington Jefferson came via Ben Dagget, Tyler Johnson, and Zac Beek, who contributed one a piece.

Team's forwards weren't the only contributers offensively, and the team's defensemen showcased their scoring touch with four goals.

The Stars were led by Frankie Mork, who finished with three goals. Parker Loving also scored for Academy of Holy Angels. In addition, Academy of Holy Angels received assists from Cooper Sande, who had one, Marshall Barnes, who had two, and Mario Bianchi, who had three.

Grant Martens made 26 saves for Bloomington Jefferson on 30 shots. The Jaguars incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with eight minors. Academy of Holy Angels incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
