Huge game by Besse boosts Benilde St. Margarets over Robbinsdale Armstrong, 9-0

Grant Besse was all over the ice for the Benilde St. Margarets Red Knights, as he tallied four goals and one assist in Benilde St. Margarets' 9-0 win over the Robbinsdale Armstrong Falcons.

Besse's first goal came 13:59 into the first period. He then added goals at 16:35 into the first, at 13:34 into the second, and at 16:15 into the second.

The win gave the Red Knights a 1-0 lead in the best of one series.

Robbinsdale Armstrong was unable to stop Benilde St. Margarets from sending pucks towards the net, and the Red Knights eventually piled up 45 shots on goal. Benilde St. Margarets did not rack up many penalties in the contest, registering only one minor for two minutes in penalty time.

Benilde St. Margarets additionally got points from T.J. Moore, who also registered two goals and three assists. Benilde St. Margarets also had goals scored by Chris Hickok, who had one and Spencer Naas, who had two. More assists for Benilde St. Margarets came via Ben Newhouse, who had two, Johnny Austin, who had three, Nate Labosky, who had five, and Nate Meyer and Seth Chumley, who each chipped in one.

The Falcons found themselves stymied offensively, and got off a mere 14 shots against the Red Knights' defense.

Andrew Sprang made 14 saves for Benilde St. Margarets on 14 shots. The Red Knights registered zero goals on zero power play opportunities. Brendan Murphy recorded 36 saves for Robbinsdale Armstrong. The Falcons avoided the penalty box for the entire game and scored zero goals off of one power plays.
