Penetang beats Alliston 3-1 after comeback scare

The Alliston Hornets tried to dig themselves out of a three-goal hole, but the Penetang Kings held on for a 3-1 victory.

Penetang took a 3-0 lead during the second period, only to have Alliston storm back on a Mike Campeau goal 3:50 into the third period to pull to two goals down.

The win moved the Kings to down 2-1 in the best of seven series.

Penetang was sparked by Craig Robinson, who had one goal and one assist. Robinson scored on the power play 5:38 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Penetang. The Kings earned a power play opportunity when William Bradon was put in the box for tripping. Austin Fischer provided the assist.

Penetang put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow the Hornets to score on any of their four power plays.

Penetang also got a goal from Matt Meher as well. Other players who recorded assists for Penetang were Hayden Cole, Matt Fischer, and Nick Arcan, who each chipped in one.

Alliston found itself stymied offensively, and got off a mere 14 shots against the Kings' defense.

More assists for Alliston came via Randy Cox, who had one.

Adam Redgate recorded 13 saves for Penetang. The Kings totaled 13 minutes in penalty time with four minors and one major and went 1-for-6 on the power play. For Penetang, Brandon Frandsen was ejected from the game. Robbie Alsop made 13 saves for the Hornets on 16 shots. Alliston ended with 25 minutes in penalty time with five minors and one major. The Hornets ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Drake Board was ejected from the game.
