Alliston blows out Penetang, 4-0

The Alliston Hornets had a three-goal lead after two periods and cruised the rest of the way en route to a 4-0 win over the Penetang Kings.

The win gave Alliston a 1-0 lead in the best of seven series.

Mike Campeau had two goals and one assist to lead the Hornets. Campeau scored the first of his two goals at 5:36 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Alliston. Mark ODonnell picked up the assist. Campeau's next tally made the score 3-0 Alliston with 16:17 left in the second period. Randy Cox provided the assist.

Alliston excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in four chances.

Alliston additionally got points from Cox, who also finished with one goal and one assist. Alliston also got a goal from Nic Archibald as well. More assists for Alliston came via Brandon Alward and Zack Skubnik, who contributed one a piece.

Penetang put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow the Hornets to score on any of their five power plays.

Tyler Brindle made 16 saves for Alliston on 16 shots. The Hornets incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. The Kings' Adam Redgate stopped 24 shots out of the 28 that he faced. Penetang incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
