Port Hope rips Campbellford, 4-1

The Port Hope Panthers were firing on all cylinders against the Campbellford Rebels, and when the final buzzer sounded Panthers emerged with a 4-1 win.

The win gave Port Hope a 1-0 lead in the best of seven series.

The Panthers were led by goalie Branson Schell, who finished with 39 saves while allowing one goal. Despite the solid performance, Schell will actually see his goals against average rise, as it stood at 1.0 entering the contest.

Dan Lagrois was all over the ice for Port Hope, as he tallied two goals in the win. Lagrois scored at 8:32 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Port Hope and again while on the power play 4:28 into the third to make the score 4-0 Port Hope.

The Panthers' offense rang up 34 shots on Campbellford's net.

Port Hope additionally got points from Dalton Lawrence, who also had one goal and one assist and Nick Weiss, who also tallied one goal and two assists to lead the team in points. In addition, Port Hope received assists from Nick Clark, Kyle Sullivan, Logan Arsenault, Josh Fagan, and Chris Jones, who each chipped in one.

The Rebels' offense rang up 40 shots on Port Hope's net.

The Panthers incurred 22 minutes in penalty time with 11 minors. Cole Mahoney recorded 30 saves for Campbellford. The Rebels incurred 30 minutes in penalty time with 10 minors.
