The Mitchell Hawks tried their best to erase a two-goal deficit, but the Kincardine Bulldogs would not be denied the victory and hung on to win, 5-4.

A goal by Adam Hughes put Kincardine up 5-3 in the third period, but Mitchell pulled to within one on Jade Maxwell's tally 11:30 into the third period.

The win gave the Bulldogs a 2-0 lead in the best of seven series.

Kincardine was led by Hughes, who finished with one goal and one assist. Hughes scored 8:47 into the third period to make the score Kincardine. Gatlin Burt picked up the assist.

The Hawks were unable to stop the Bulldogs from sending pucks towards the net, and Kincardine eventually piled up 36 shots on goal. The Bulldogs had trouble converting on the power play advantage, managing just two goals on nine chances.

Kincardine also got points from Mike Sharpe, who also had one goal and one assist and Cody Britton, who also finished with one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Kincardine also got a goal from Hayden Allen as well. Other players who recorded assists for Kincardine were Tanner Simpson, who had one.

Mitchell's offense rang up 42 shots on Kincardine's net.

The Hawks were helped by Dillon Drinkwalter, who tallied one goal. Drinkwalter scored 2:35 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Mitchell. Ryan Sykes provided the assist. Mitchell additionally got points from Tyler Tolton, who also registered one goal and one assist. Jalen Aitcheson also scored for Mitchell. In addition, Mitchell received assists from Derek MacDonald, Brent Rae, Matt Van DeWalle, and Luke Salter, who contributed one a piece.

The Bulldogs' Burt stopped 38 shots out of the 42 that he faced. Kincardine incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with eight minors. Ben Nelson rejected 31 shots on goal for Mitchell. The Hawks incurred 22 minutes in penalty time with 11 minors.
