Sioux Falls SD rolls over Worthington, 9-2Worthington High School Fri, Feb 08, 2013 The Worthington Trojans had trouble finding ways to stop Sioux Falls SD, which beat Trojans, 9-2. Sioux Falls SD got the win on the strength of a great game by Wyatt Nielsen, who had two goals and three assists. Nielsen scored the first of his two goals on the power play at 7:21 into the first period to make the score 3-0 Sioux Falls SD. Sioux Falls SD had taken the advantage when Worthington's Zach Heidebrink got sent off for delay of game. Ben Czarnecki assisted on the tally. Nielsen's next tally on the power play made the score 5-1 Sioux Falls SD with 3:50 left in the second period. Brandon Appeldorn picked up the assist. Sioux Falls SD's offense rang up 32 shots on the Trojans' net. Sioux Falls SD also got points from Lucas Mutschelknaus, who also racked up one goal and one assist, Czarnecki, who also tallied one goal and three assists, and Appeldorn, who also racked up two goals and one assist. Parker Dawes also scored for Sioux Falls SD. Other players who recorded assists for Sioux Falls SD were Nick Goetsch, Cody Solma, and Dan Schipper, who each chipped in one. Worthington was led by Andrew Johnson, who registered one goal. Johnson scored 11:44 into the first period to make the score 3-1 Sioux Falls SD. Nick Newman provided the assist. Worthington also got a goal from Jacob Oberloh as well. Josh Jackson rejected 15 shots on goal for Sioux Falls SD. Sioux Falls SD incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors.
