Flint outlasts Metro, 4-2Iceland Arena Tue, Mar 05, 2013 Story by Narrative Science.
The game between the Flint Jr. Generals and the Metro Jets was tight through all 60 minutes, but in the end Flint emerged with a 4-2 win. The Jr. Generals gained the winning advantage on a goal by Andrew Lay 2:07 into the third period and hung on until final buzzer. Flint was led by Lay, who grabbed one goal and one assist. The Jr. Generals kept Metro's goalie busy throughout the game, and Riley Corbin made 28 saves on 32 shots. Flint was often in penalty trouble, as it ended with eight minors and one major for 31 minutes in penalty time. Flint additionally got points from Trevor Benaglio, who also had one goal and one assist. Edward Osowski also scored for Flint. Other players who recorded assists for Flint were Phillip Garza and Conner McGovern, who each chipped in one and Robert Click and Eric Jones, who contributed two a piece. The Jets forced their penalty killing units to work especially hard during the game, picking up 12 minors and one major for 29 minutes in penalty time.
