Perry leads Andover to shutout victory over Cloquet Esko CarltonCloquet Area Recreation Center Tue, Feb 05, 2013 The Andover Huskies used a sparkling performance by Chase Perry to take down the Cloquet Esko Carlton Lumberjacks, as the netminder did not allow a goal in Andover's 3-0 shutout victory. The Huskies were paced by Zach Sitarz, who finished with one goal and one assist. Sitarz scored on the power play 1:40 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Andover. Andover had gained a power play chance when Dalton Johnson was whistled for hooking. Tyler Tomberlin assisted on the tally. The Huskies excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in four chances. Andover's defense was surprisingly good. The Huskies average 2.6 goals allowed per game. Andover's offense was clicking better than usual and put 25 shots on goal during the game, better than the 1.8 shot per game it averages. Andover additionally got points from Tomberlin, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. Nick Maney also scored for Andover. Other players who recorded assists for Andover were Tyler Vold, Jared McComber, Bjorn Kjelstad, and Christian Mohs, who each chipped in one. Cloquet Esko Carlton was held below its usual level of production. The Lumberjacks put an average of 4.9 pucks into the net per game. Cloquet Esko Carlton's penalty kill was ineffective, and let in two goals to the Huskies' power play unit. The 35 shots that the Lumberjacks put on net surpassed Cloquet Esko Carlton's average of 1.4 shot per game this season. Perry recorded 35 saves for Andover. The Huskies incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. The Lumberjacks' Zack Strom stopped 22 shots out of the 25 that he faced. Cloquet Esko Carlton incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
