Berg's big game bests Red Lake Falls in 6-3 Wadena-Deer Creek win

The Wadena-Deer Creek Wolverines' Christian Berg had a big offensive game, scoring two goals and contributing two assists in his team's 6-3 win over the Red Lake Falls Eagles.

Berg's tallies came at 7:31 into the first period to make the score 2-1 Wadena-Deer Creek and 14:08 into the third to make the score 6-3 Wadena-Deer Creek.

The defensemen of Wadena-Deer Creek were also effective in Red Lake Falls' zone, and came away with three goals.

Wadena-Deer Creek also got points from Mitchell Swanson, who also had two goals and one assist. Wadena-Deer Creek also got a goal from Bridger Pettit as well. In addition, Wadena-Deer Creek received assists from Dylan Phillips and Jake Krause, who contributed one a piece.

The Eagles were led by Zack Landman, who tallied one goal and one assist. Landman scored 4:53 into the third period to make the score 4-2 Wadena-Deer Creek. Ryan Amiot picked up the assist. Red Lake Falls additionally got points from Amiot, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Alex Erickson also scored for Red Lake Falls. Other players who recorded assists for Red Lake Falls were Devin McGlynn, Austen Hanson, and Kayler Knott, who each chipped in one.

Wesley Janson rejected 19 shots on goal for the Wolverines. Wadena-Deer Creek incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Wyatt Casavan recorded 24 saves for Red Lake Falls. The Eagles incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors.
