Behind a great game by Patrick Freel, who had four goals, the Dorchester Dolphins defeated the Port Stanley Sailors, 9-1.

Freel got on the scoresheet 16:29 into the first period. He then added goals at 17:02 into the second, at 13 seconds into the third, and at 10:44 into the third.

The win gave Dorchester a 2-0 lead in the best of seven series.

The Dolphins' Patrick Maziarz was a brick wall in net, as he came up with 28 saves and let only one puck past him. Maziarz certainly lowered his goals against average, which was 2.33 entering the contest.

Dorchester made Port Stanley's netminders to work between the pipes, totaling 44 shots and forcing 35 saves. Brandon Garner made 25 stops and Ricky Corkum made 10. The Dolphins stifled the Sailors' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man.

Dorchester additionally got points from Shayne Rhyno, who also grabbed one goal and one assist and Chad Brulotte, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Others who scored for Dorchester included Liam Gillooly, who had one and Bryan McCauley, who had two. More assists for Dorchester came via Matt Cormier, who had three and Jordan Fuller, Jesiah Sweetland, Jacob Baribeau, and Tommy Prokes, who each chipped in one.

Port Stanley struggled on the penalty kill, allowing Dorchester to score three power play goals on four chances.

Port Stanley also got a goal from Tom Yurek as well. In addition, Port Stanley received assists from Josh Tremblay, who had one.

The Dolphins incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. The Sailors incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
