A stellar performance between the pipes by Lee Doherty helped the Ayr Centennials defeat the Tavistock Braves, 2-1. The win gave Ayr a 2-0 lead in the best of seven series. The Centennials pulled out the victory even though they were hit with 42 penalty minutes. Ayr was paced by Brandon Christopher, who grabbed one goal. Christopher scored 7:04 into the third period to make the score 2-1 Ayr. Ben Poort picked up the assist. The Centennials stifled Tavistock's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Ayr's offense rang up 32 shots on the Braves' net. Ayr also got a goal from Alex Richard as well. More assists for Ayr came via Nick Hirs, Mike Wilkins, and Mike McKnight, who each chipped in one. Tavistock forced the Centennials goalie Doherty to work between the pipes, taking 33 shots. The Braves got their opportunities on the power play, but did not convert any of their 11 chances. Tavistock was led by Charlie Irwin, who scored the team's only goal. Irwin scored 4:38 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Tavistock. Lee Doherty made 32 saves for Ayr on 33 shots. The Centennials registered one goal on six power play opportunities. Team's Jordan Pettitt and Alex Mutton were slapped with misconducts and ejected from the game. Tim Parker rejected 30 shots on goal for the Braves. Tavistock incurred 34 minutes in penalty time with seven minors.
