The game between the Ayr Centennials and the Tavistock Braves was tight through all 60 minutes, but in the end Ayr emerged with a 4-2 win. Neither team gained more than a two-goal lead, and Alex Richard's goal in the second period proved to be the difference maker. The win gave the Centennials a 1-0 lead in the best of seven series. Ayr was sparked by Richard, who registered one goal and one assist. Richard scored on the power play 18:01 into the second period to make the score 3-2 Ayr. The Centennials had gotten the advantage when Tavistock's Matthew Lupton was sent off for roughing. Andrew Richard provided the assist. Ayr additionally got points from Richard, who also finished with one goal and one assist. Jordan Pettitt also scored for Ayr. Other players who recorded assists for Ayr were Brandon Christopher, who had two and Adam Fisher, Spencer Sweazy, Brett Gibson, and Mike Wilkins, who each chipped in one.
