Alliston erases deficit to stun Huntsville, 6-4

Undaunted by a three-goal deficit, the Alliston Hornets battled back to claim a 6-4 victory over the Huntsville Otters.

Alliston never led in the game until netting the game winner. The Hornets fell behind 4-1 after a goal by Huntsville's Josh Barkey at 18:42 in the second period. Alliston tied things up at 4-4 on a goal by Dakota Brooks at 12:22 in the third period. The Hornets scored the game winner at 14:30 in the third period on a goal by Brooks.

After the loss made the series score 3-0 in the best of seven series, the Otters face elimination next time out.

Alliston got the win thanks to a great game by Mike Campeau, who had one goal and two assists. Campeau scored 19:29 into the third period to make the score 6-4 Alliston. David Leblanc assisted on the tally.

The Hornets' offense rang up 46 shots on Huntsville's net.

Alliston also got points from Cole Parker, who also had one goal and two assists, Leblanc, who also racked up one goal and one assist, Joe Cochrane, who also registered one goal and one assist, and Brooks, who also tallied one goal and two assists. Mark ODonnell also scored for Alliston. In addition, Alliston received assists from Tanner Dockerty and Ashton Duthie, who each chipped in one.

Team could not crack Alliston's penalty kill and was held to two power play goals while having 10 opportunities to play with the man advantage.

The Otters were led by Brodie Muckler, who had two goals. Muckler scored the first of his two goals at 3:20 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Huntsville. Shawn Fraser provided the assist. Muckler's next tally made the score 2-1 Huntsville with 5:58 left in the first period. Huntsville earned a power play opportunity when Andre Lessard was put in the box for slashing. Jay Dix picked up the assist. Huntsville also got a goal from Ben Muckler as well. More assists for Huntsville came via Myles Bissonette, who had one and Brandon Quo Vadis, who had two.

The Hornets took out Tyler Brindle after he had made 11 saves and installed Robbie Alsop in goal, where he finished with zero saves and the win. Alliston incurred 28 minutes in penalty time with nine minors. The Hornets ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Randy Cox was ejected from the game. Tye Greschuk recorded 40 saves for the Otters. Huntsville incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors.
